Fire Police Assist West Pottsgrove PD

Thursday, January 31, 2013 03:05 Station 57 Fire Police were dispatched @ 03:05 to assist the Police Department with closing Sell Road  between Manatawny  Street and Upland Square Drive due to flooding. 

   


 

Thoughts & Prayers to the Members of West Lanham FD, Prince Georges County MD

Wednesday, January 30, 2013  West Lanham  FD was clearing a vehicle accident on the Inner Loop of I-495 early this morning and was rear-end by a tractor-trailer. There were 7 people injured, 4 those are members of the West Lanham FD. Thoughts and prayers to all involved and well wishes for a speedy recovery. * VISIBILITIES... ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES THROUGH ABOUT 10 AM. POOR VISIBILITIES MAY LINGER INTO EARLY AFTERNOON NORTH OF INTERSTATE 78 IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA AND NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY.

* WINDS AND TIMING... SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL GUST BETWEEN 45 AND 50 MPH NEAR AND JUST AHEAD OF A SQUALL LINE SOMETIME BETWEEN 9 PM AND 2 AM TONIGHT .

* IMPACTS... SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES ARE EXPECTED FROM POCKETS OF BROKEN TREE LIMBS ASSOCIATED WITH THE STRONG WINDS.

Vehicle Accident w/Injuries Squirrelhollow Rd & Saylor Lane Douglass Twp Berks County

Monday, January 28, 2013 17:59 Station 57 was dispatched along with Berks Station 49(Amity) for a vehicle accident with injuries in the area of Squirrel Hollow Rd & Saylor Lane in Douglass Twp Berks County. Engine 57, Special Service 57 and Traffic 57 respond along with Berks Station 49. Crews assisted with fluid and debris control. Chief 57 recalled all units @ 18:43.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW... SLEET... AND FREEZING RAIN... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 2 PM EST MONDAY.

* ACCUMULATIONS... SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH... ALONG WITH AROUND A TRACE OF ICE.

* TIMING... LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AROUND THE MORNING COMMUTE... BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO A SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN MIXTURE BY LATE MORNING. PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO RAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS... THE COMBINATION OF SNOW... SLEET... AND FREEZING RAIN WILL LEAD TO HAZARDOUS TRAVEL ON MONDAY. MANY SURFACES MAY BECOME ICY... ESPECIALLY UNTREATED AND ELEVATED SURFACES.

Saturday, January 26, 2013 19:04 Station 57 along with Chester Station 64(Norco) were dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries @ Upland Square in the area of Target. Engine 57 responded and was recalled by the PD @ 19:12. 

   


 

Residential Fire Alarm Douglass Twp Berks County

Saturday, January 26, 2013 01:51 Station 57 along with Berks Station 49(Amity) were dispatched for a residential fire alarm @ 208 Quarry Road. Engine 57 responded along with Berks Engine 49. Engine 57 arrived on location with nothing showing from the exterior. The crew from Engine 57 checked the residence and found a faulty smoke detector. Captain 57 recalled the assignment @ 02:14.  

   


 

Vehicle w/Injuries @ On Ramp to 422 EB @ Stowe Interchange

Thursday, January 24, 2013 17:57 Station 57 was dispatched for a vehicle with injuries @ Stowe Interchange to 422 EB. Chief 57 recalled the assignment after communicating with the Police Department that no fire department services were needed. Company was available at 18:02.
